In this story I read, I was just really shocked. How can the mother be surprised that that happened to her daughter? As much as the mother “tried” to keep her safe and in line, she didn’t do it right at all. I’m not them, nor am I a mother myself so who am I to judge? Well, I respond with for one, giving her a cellphone before she was even in her teens. Then letting her have cable and internet, and most of all, having a car handed to her by the age of 14. To make matters worse, she asked to get married at the age of FIFTEEN! That is just down right spoiling her rotten and her not knowing what is right, and not knowing her age. She was getting tans and just becoming the look of an older woman before she could even hit puberty. I’m surprised she didn’t get pregnant; but instead, she was expelled from school for drug possession. It isn’t much of a surprise for me. When the mother found out, she quoted, “I don't understand how this could happen, we raised her in a strong Christian home. And she's not some underprivileged kid. I went back to work to make sure she had all the advantages." Just because she is in a Christian home, doesn’t mean she is a good kid. I want parents to open their eyes and let their kids be kids!
